A bit of history...
The origin of the Uffizi Gallery dates back to the age of splendor of the Republic of Florence, one of the most important Italian museums and the most visited, it is also one of the largest and best known in the world, and holds a collection of masterpieces, particularly from the period of the Renaissance.
Giorgio Vasari began the construction of the building of the Gallery in 1560, requested by the Medici family, to accommodate the offices of the Florentine magistrates, hence the name uffizi, “offices”. The top floor was made into a gallery for the family and their guests and included their collection of Roman sculptures. The construction was later continued and finished by other architects in 1581.
What you can expect from the complex is to be marveled by works from Raphael, Michelangelo, Dürer, Rembrandt, Titian, among others, which are displayed chronologically from the 13th century to the 18th century throughout 50 rooms.
